Three posts in one day

I have posted numerous things below because I will be taking a little trip tomorrow and won't post again until Tuesday. The other foreigners and I are heading over to Tobago, the sister island of Trinidad. They are two islands that make one Nation. Often you will see them abbreviated T'n'T. And also the money system here is called "TT". Anyway here is a very simplistic map of our travel. We will leave Tunapuna (Mmmm, I love tuna) and travel to the port in PORT of Spain, which is the capital.

From there we will take a ferry out around the peninsula and circle back Northeast to the very small island of Tobago. From there we can take a taxi to anywhere on the island. I've been told it's filled with beaches and that's about it. I'm sure I'll find something to do.

Today however was spent working on these posts, reading, doing some journaling, and then at 3 pm went into Port of Spain. We traveled to NAPA, which is the National Academy of Performing Arts. It is a beautiful building that is a cross between the Opera house in Sydney and Millennium Park in Chicago. You'll see once I post a picture. Once there we saw a free concert by the UTT (University of Trinidad and Tobago) music faculty.

Nothing to do with Trinidad...

OK. So you may (or may not) know that I am a huge fan of Apple as well as all of their products and designs. You may also (or not) know that up until now, the iPhone has been exclusive to only one service provider for all of its three and a half years of existence - AT&T. Well, it has now become available on the Verizon network. Here are some very, very interesting statics from the first day of PRE-order ONLINE. So no one even has them yet!!!

For all of the exclusive Droids and other phones that have been released over the years on Verizon’s network, the iPhone 4 has beaten them all. But not just beaten them…here are some amazing qualifiers:

-The 8 month old iPhone 4 will be replaced in just 5 months by the new version
-It beat everything else in just two hours
-Those two hours were from 3am to 5 am.
-It was only available to current Verizon customers, NOT the world at large
-Verizon employees weren’t allowed to buy them.

At 8:10 p.m. EST yesterday, Verizon Wireless ceased online orders of iPhone 4 to existing customers and ended the most successful first day sales in the history of the company.

Love it.

More pics from the panyard

So this is another picture from our panyard. In it you can see the bass pans in their actual stands. Notice in this picture (and the one below) there are a lot of little decks with white stands and nothing in them. That's where the smaller pans and players go. Like me.

This is the panyard from a rival band called "Exodus" It's a pretty nice yard if you ask me. They also have seating built in around the hill and lights so people can sit and watch them practice all night long. Literately.
